Bad news to start the Friday. Google has had to release an emergency update for Chrome after discovering a zero-day vulnerability, the first of 2026, which is already being exploited by cybercriminals. The flaw, identified as CVE-2026-2441, is of high severity and allows an attacker to execute malicious code on the victim’s computer just by convincing them to visit a malicious web page.
The most worrying thing is that the attack happens without the user noticing anything, taking advantage of a flaw in the memory management of style sheets (CSS). If you use Chrome, the best thing you can do is update it right now. It is not the first time it has happened, and it surely will not be the last, but it is still a reminder that even the biggest have their weak points.
