Cyberattacks break records in 2025 and Spain is no exception: INCIBE managed more than 122,000 incidents

The data does not lie and things look bad. The National Institute of Cybersecurity of Spain (INCIBE) has revealed that in 2025 it managed the staggering figure of 122,223 cybersecurity incidents, 26% more than the previous year. We are talking about ransomware attacks, digital identity theft, telephone fraud and all kinds of threats that keep growing and becoming more sophisticated.

The worst part is that 2026 does not look much better. Experts warn that artificial intelligence is being used by cybercriminals to launch more targeted and automated phishing attacks, and that hybrid warfare in Europe is skyrocketing cyberattacks against critical infrastructure. If you ever thought that cybersecurity was something out of the movies, it is about time you changed your mind.
