It seems that problems are piling up for Elon Musk. The European Union has decided to take action and has opened an investigation into X (the social network formerly known as Twitter) to examine whether the platform has allowed the spread of sexualized images created with artificial intelligence through its Grok tool. The European Commission wants to know whether “manipulated sexually explicit images” have been shown to EU users, which could have serious consequences for the company.
This is a new chapter in the debate over the limits of artificial intelligence and the responsibility of large tech platforms in content moderation. We’ll see how it all turns out, but things look promising.
